Routine inspections of transmission fluid levels and quality is
critical. Automatic transmission fluid (ATF) protect the
components of your transmission, keeping them cool. ATF
also contains important additives like seal softeners,
anti-foaming agents, lubricants and detergents.
Most manufacturers recommend that your automatic
transmission fluid should be checked every 3,000 miles.
Warning Signs You Should Know
- Abrupt or hard shifts between gears.
- Delayed or no response when shifting from neutral to
drive or reverse.
- Failure to shift during normal acceleration.
- Slippage during acceleration. The engine speeds up,
but the vehicle does not respond.
What
Does This Mean?
Poor transmission performance may come from actual
component failure or a simple disconnected hose or
plugged filter. Our experienced technicians will inspect the
simplest solutions first, as transmission repairs can be
expensive.
Transmission Flush
The ATF fluid
in your transmission can become contaminated over time,
collecting dirt,
dust and debris. Viscosity also suffers as contaminants build up. Transmission flush replaces the
old fluid in
the transmission and provides enhanced protection and
reliability.
After transmission flush, you will experience smoother shifting
and improved performance,
as well as increased vehicle
longevity.
